Our Next Election: June 9, 2026, Primary Election
Polling Location: Town Hall, 340 Arrowsic Rd.

The June 9 Primary Election is a semi-open primary.
- Voters who are not enrolled in a party may vote in one party’s primary. The voter remains unenrolled.
- Voters enrolled in a party may only vote in that party’s primary.
Currently, Maine has 4 qualified political parties: Democratic, Green-Independent, Libertarian, and Republican. Registered voters may enroll in one of these political parties.
If you are enrolled in a party and want to change your political party, you must do so at least 15 days prior to election day, which for the June primary is Monday, May 25. (You can change your political party 3 months after your last enrollment date.)
Absentee Ballots: Absentee Ballots may be requested 90 days prior to an election. Absentee Ballots are available 30 days prior to the election. The deadline to request an Absentee Ballot without a Special Circumstance is 5:00PM the Thursday before the election.
All absentee ballots must be returned by 8PM on election day (the close of polls).
June 9, 2026, Election:
- Absentee Ballot Request Date: Beginning, Wednesday, March 9, 2026
- Online absentee Ballot Request Date: April 9, 2026
- Absentee Ballots Available: Beginning, Monday, May 11, 2026
- Absentee Ballot Deadline (without a Special Circumstance): Thursday, June 4, 2026
You may request an absentee ballot in one of the following ways:
- Complete an online request form HERE. Your ballots will be mailed to you once they become available.
- Call 207-443-4609 to request ballots be sent to your mailing address.
- Make an appointment with the Town Clerk, Barbara Boyce, once absentee ballots are available, and either vote in person or take your ballots home and return once voted.
Absentee Ballot Drop Box: The Absentee Ballot Drop Box will be available starting the week of May 11, 2026. This is a secure, 24/7 way to submit your ballot and requires no postage.
Accessible Absentee Ballots. Voters that have a disability that prevents them from completing a paper ballot, may fill out an application for an Accessible Absentee Ballot. For information about accessible absentee voting go HERE.
Ongoing Absentee Ballot. State election law allows registered voters to apply for ongoing absentee voter status. A voter who qualifies will automatically receive an absentee ballot for each statewide election, municipal election, and any other election for which the voter is eligible to vote and need not submit a request for each election. You may request an application from the Town Clerk or print and fill in the application HERE. Submit your completed application to the Town Clerk.
