The Conservation Commission will meet on Tuesday, August 19 at 5:30 p.m. at the town hall to discuss the following topics: the pesticides survey; winter moth talk; fall field trip; bioblitz; updates on the WaterWise Project, Packard's Landing, and Fish Commission; water quality testing and cleanup schedules, and anything else that may be brought before the commission. Bring your kayak, a chair or two, share a dish or a dessert,and, of course, tell your friends to join you. We’ll be set up down by the launch area with tables and our canopy tent. We may even have a few musicians providing entertainment. And in case you were worried, this is purely a social event – so no volunteer work is involved!

Paving and Burn Permits
* The Road Commission is contracting for paving Stafford Lane and that work will take place soon. Residents should contract Jim Stump (207-442-7527) or Brian Elwell with questions.
* Due to the dry conditions, the Maine Forest Service will not be issuing burn permits until further notice. They are asking that towns follow the same guidelines.
