Could you be part of the fire and emergency response team?

Come and see for yourself. Visit us at the fire station on Stafford Lane during our monthly training, held the third Saturday of each month from 8:00–10:00 a.m.

If you are physically capable, dependable, courageous, and able to stay calm under pressure, we encourage you to get involved. We especially welcome community members with a basic understanding of mechanical or power equipment, safe chainsaw skills, or an interest in becoming a firefighter. Basic Fire School and Firefighter I & II training are available in Maine, and our Saturday trainings are a great way to become familiar with the department, equipment, and team.

There is another important support role for members who can respond when available, day or night, to assist emergency medical personnel during EMS calls in their neighborhood.

Annual Bulky Trash Pickup

If you have any large items that need removal, you may contact Rogers & Sons to arrange for pickup from October 12-17. (207-442-7104; rcrogersandsons@gmail.com)

• Small wooden furniture- (coffee table, kitchen chairs, dressers etc) $25
• Appliances- dishwasher/microwave/ portable heater- $25-$45 based on size 
• Television/monitors- $25 
• Mattress/furniture with springs – $50 landfill disposal fee plus pickup.
• Couches/sofas $100 -$200

If furniture is in good condition, The Restore (Habitat for Humanity) may be happy to take it. Call first at (207) 504-9340. The Swap Barn and the Recycling Shed do not accept any of the items listed above. 

A Zentangle Fundraiser for the Arrowsic Education Scholarship Committee!

Zentangle is a method of mindful drawing. Irene Burgess, a certified Zentangle teacher, will provide the basics of the method in a stress-reducing atmosphere designed to make you appreciate your own creativity. All supplies will be provided. October 14th , 6-8:30pm at the Town Hall. $35.00 per participant.

ARSWC Tip of the Month



Did you know that there is a super convenient, safe and environmentally conscious way to dispose of unused pharmaceuticals?  

Just drop them off in the collection spots in Bath. You can find them at the Sheriff’s office in the courthouse building at the top of Centre Street (pictured above) and at the CVS on Court Street, next to the pharmacy department (a clearly labeled blue metal box).

Allowed are prescription and over the counter drugs, ointments and drops, for both people and pets.
