Bradbury Mountain State Park Winter Fun

 From the Maine Bureau of Parks and Lands “Celebrate the joys of winter
by joining us at one or all of our Winter Fun Days – Take It Outside
events.” The first event will take place on Feb.1 at Bradbury Mountain
State Park with guided hikes and games, a warming fire & hot cocoa. The
Brickyard Hollow Food Truck will be selling pizza! Breakfast pizza at 10
AM and other kinds from 11 AM to 3:00 PM. The Maine State Parks Ski &
Snowshoe trailer will be on-site loaning ski and snowshoe gear for use
in the park at no charge. Special event park admission, 12 & older
$1.50. Under 12 & over 65 free. For more information call (207) 688-4712

IN OTHER NEWS …
NEW Town Website
Tomorrow (1/28) we will launch a new town website.

First, we all owe huge thanks and gratitude to Paul Kalkstein, who built and rebuilt and nursed along the original town site long past its deserved life. He retired, we un-retired him, he retired again; and still he helped us out when no one else could.

The new site is built on the WordPress platform and offers a couple of key advantages: it’s an  open-source, fairly universal technology, so when it needs to fixed, we’ll have an easier time finding volunteers (we know you’re out there 😉); and simple updating does not require special coding knowledge or skill, so Irene and other town officials can make information available to you in a more timely fashion.

All that said, we are VERY aware that we are launching an imperfect beast, but we’re trying to balance critical need against attempts at perfection. We think we’ve found and fixed all of the really critical issues, but there will be errors, typos, omissions, etc. For that, we will apologize in advance and ask that you direct corrections and suggestions to Irene (at irene.burgess@arrowsic.org) as you find them.
